First of all, I would like to thank you for proving my point. This, ladies and gentlemen, is why I say Eagles fans are idiots. Now, I would like to make it clear that like all stereotypes, they are only true 90% of the time. I would like to congratulate this girl on being part of the majority. Now, I will destroy the feeble argument she has presented me with. Firstly, the Eagles are currently 7-0. They have also played one of the easiest schedules in the NFL for the first half of the season. Come January, the Eagles will meet a team with a running back and an offensive line and will be demolished. The Eagles are a good team, but come Superbowl Sunday, they will be watching from their homes. The strength of the Eagles has always been their defense: a strong pass rush, quick linebackers, great cover corners, confusing packages and zone coverages. McNabb has never been the reason the Eagles have a won a game. I also contribute the Eagles recent success to Andy Reid, who is the perfect fit for the players in Philladlephia. He also runs a simplified version of Mike Holmgren's west-coast offense. Any quaterback, ANYONE, can succeed in the west-coast offense, thats why it is used. I can drop back three steps and through a ten yard pass or screen play, put me in Andy. It just so happens that McNabb fits this system well. He has a strong arm but no deep threat and is not accurate. In college, McNabb was a running QB, the kind that no one in the NFL wants because they are worthless. But its ok, because according to this girl McNabb was picked with a "SHITTY" pick. Oh, so I guess the second overall pick in the NFL draft is shitty? After that first pick, its all down hill. You better believe the Eagles wanted him, they based their whole draft on him. And thats why real fans were upset when he was picked because they understand the implications of picking a running QB for a non-major college conference. He got lucky when Reid introduced the new offensive system, very lucky. I'm sorry friend, McNabb is not, never has been, and never will be the reason the Eagles are good. Furthermore, letting go of Duce Staley was a very smart move. Remember when he held out last season for more money? Probably not, idiot. He is a mediocre back at best, and he was backed up by two quality replacements. His cap room was used to make the two biggest off-season free agent signings in Kearse and Owens. Big off-season, mega-contract free agent deals? Sorry pal, thats the Yankees to a tee. Duce Staley is more trouble then he was ever worth. And Owens and Kearse were attracted to the Eagles thinking they could win a championship (hmm, sounds familiar, oh right Yankees!). But thats ok, the NFL has the most strict salary cap in sports and Kearse and Owens will have ruined the Eagles in a couple of years. Clearly, this girl knows what she is talking about. She is an avid football fan and understands the game. It doesnt matter if you have always followed a team. It offends me when you wait until that team gets good to brag to everyone and make a feeble attempt to talk shit. So put away your shiny new Owens jersey and go back to watching the Real World.
