21. Being Saved

1. Hear: Mt 7:24-27, Ro 10:17.

2. Believe: Mk 16:15-16, Heb 11:6, (Not faith only - Jn 12:42, Jas 2:24).

3. Repent: Lk 13:3, Ac 2:38, 17:30.

4. Confess: Mt 10:32-33, Ac 8:36-37, Ro 10:9.

5. Be baptized:  Ac 2:38.  See also “Baptism.”

6. Remain Faithful: Ro 8:1-17, Rev 2:10.  See also “Obedience” & “Conversion.”

 

Is there any part of this that is not a matter of obedience which comes from faith?

22. Few Saved

1. Few chosen - Mt 7:13-14, 22:14, 25:10, Lk 6:46, Lk 13:24, IPe 3:20.

2. Not everyone - Mt 7:21-23.

3. Parable of the Sower - Mt 13:1-23.

 

Why will there be few saved?  I thought Jesus came to seek and to save the lost!  Explain.

 

23. The Deity of Christ

1. Emmanuel = God with us – Is 7:14, 8:8; Mt 1:23.

2. Gen. 1: - “Let us make man....” Ge 1:26.

3. Elohim in Hebrew is plural - Ge 21:22?

4. Godhead - referred to 3 times in the NT. Ac 14:29, Ro 1:20, Co 2:9.

5. Jesus’ proclamation - “Before Abraham was, I am.” REF!!

6. The Alpha & The Omega. Re 22:13.

7. The root and the offspring of Jesse. Re 22:13.

8. Thomas’ confession of Jesus as Lord and God. Mt 4:10.???

9. Jesus is the incarnation of the eternal logos (Word) - Jn 1:1 & 14.

9. Angels refuse worship - Jd 13:15-16, Re 22:9.

How can s.o. be both the beginning and the end; both the root and offspring?

Did angels accept worship?

What was the purpose of miracles?

Who was able to perform them?

Can you list some?

What was the time frame i.e. were they to continue forever?  Explain.

Have miracles ceased?  Explain.

How can we be certain?

What, then, of those who would claim to perform miracles today?
