MacMac. What makes him so great? Is it his past, present or future? As I sit here, holding my pen and twirling my hair, I ponder upon the many things that make this "MacMac" great.

As a young boy, Mac grew up in the streets of Mandaluyong. He must’ve been really brave for a small boy knowing that he was able to survive all the bad entities in the streets AND work for his means. Not having his parents by his side perhaps was emotional tribulation, making his daily life every bit harder. Handling burden and pain on his own at such a young age is an achievement on it’s own, but what Mac had gone through during his childhood is a great fulfillment.

Nowadays, Mac busies himself with his studies and of course, his passion, Basketball. At first, Mac may seem to appear with an intimidating front. With a walk like his, no wonder people see him as 'maangas'. But beneath this tall muscleman is a friendly, humorous person. Although he may have a loud voice and may seem moody, Mac is still kind and humble. Sometimes, too humble that you’d want to kick him back into the real world. :). His moodiness is often his set back. Contrary to popular belief, he isn’t 'masungit' or 'suplado'. Let’s just say everyone wakes up on the wrong side of the bed every once in a while. Popularity is one thing Mac still has to get used to; it has its perks and disadvantages. Lately, he’s been getting the bad end of it. People say he’s 'mayabang' and unapproachable, proven from their personal experience. We’re all aware that Mac isn’t used to attention (he was barely an entity in Carson High, USA). In short, he’s still in the adjustment period. And believe me, he’s always affected by what people say about him!

We all know he’s great in Basketball. Only in his first year in the UAAP and he’s already bagged the Rookie of the Year Award. Recently, he scored 40 points in one game against PUP (Polytechnic University of the Philippines) during the NCRAA Games. This Small Forward has no where else to go but up. After finishing his college degree, Mac wishes to play Professional Ball, a lifelong dream, perhaps for his favorite team, Tanduay. What the future holds for him? Only time can tell. We can simply guess but for sure, whatever it will be, it will be a bright one.

So what makes MacMac so great? Is it his past, present or future? As I sit here holding my pen and twirling my hair, my mind comes to only one thing; it is not his past, present nor future that makes Mac great, it is he himself. It’s this talented, friendly and down-to-earth man that makes the greatness of MacMac.
