Procedure 1. Distribute Test on "Fish Cheeks" & "Names/Nombres"

2. Students will define "Words to Own" for "The Naming of Names" p. 152 in their notebooks

3. Students will complete the "Quickwrite" on p. 152 in their notebooks (one full paragraph in length); to be completed for homework if not done

Procedure 1. Students will read "Naming of Names" p. 153

3. "Naming of Names" vocab sheet (handout p. 70 Teaching Resources A)

Friday 5/4/01  SWBAT: respond in writing to a film written by Ray Bradbury 
Procedure 1. Write this question on the board: 

Do you think it's good for newcomers to a society or culture to change their ways? Or should they try to hold on to their old ways of doing things?

* Students are to write two responses to the questions above, one as themselves and one as either Amy Tan, Wing Tek Lum, Julia Alvarez, or Harry Bittering

* Students must write silently in their notebooks for 10 minutes before you can start the film

2. Show Ray Bradbury Film
