So Jackie and I just got back to our Hotel after spending the evening hanging out with Janet, Bernie, Morgan and Ryleigh. I have run several marathons before this, but never before has the night prior to a marathon been so peaceful, enoyable and fun. I love my wife for supporting me through this, she is an amazing and beautiful individual with whom I am fortunate to share my life. And Janet, Bernie, Mo and Ryleigh are the reason I am in Little Rock right now. As I sit here and think about running 26.2 miles tomorrow that effort while admittedly daunting pales in comparison to what they went through here last September. You guys will never know how much your strength, resolve and unity as a family through that challenge has inspired me and impressed me. Thank you for that, thank you (SO SO MUCH) for coming to Little Rock, and thank you for opening your lives to me. Family is an awesome thing.
So I saw Ryleigh this eve for the first time in almost 3 months (far too long:( and she looks amazing.....AMAZING. This girl is the real deal. Jackie and I drove by ACH today and the institution that I once passed with fear and uncertainty I now passed with a smile, fulfillment and gratitude. Thank you to everyone there.
OK so I need to be thinking about getting some sleep here soon. As I sit here, I am typing while Jackie is drawing up signs to support me with tomorrow. I can't wait to see them (especially by the finish:) She is awesome. Jackie, thank you.
Ok and finally tonite, thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read these pages, to contribute to this cause and to pray for Ryleigh....she is doing incredibly well...our prayers are working. Ok tomorrow I run.
