Though numerous of them are grown in Hawaii, their origin is Colombia. The heart-shaped thing, which looks like flower is a transformed leaf, and the flowers bloom on the thin part at the middle of the heart-shaped "leaf".
The plant in the picture was devided from the one, which had been purchased in the nursery about one and a half year ago.
