Mario: Hammer: This is the first weapon Mario will receive, and the description when equipping this Weapon says "Pounds enemies." Mario swings the Hammer down on the enemy's head. If you do a Timed Hit correctly, swings the Hammer down a second time. The Hammer increases has an attack rating of 10 and is it is found in the third screen of the Mushroom Way, after defeating the Hammer Bros. Lucky Hammer: Described in the game as "A lucky hammer!", Mario swings the hammer down on the enemy's head. Although the Lucky Hammer has a 0 attack rating, you will receive Coins for hitting an enemy with it. If you do the timed hit correctly, it will say lucky and at the end of the battle you can play the Egg Game to double the experience points from the battle. The Lucky Hammer can be purchased at the Seaside Town Weapon and Armor Shop for the price of 123 Coins. Super Hammer: Described in the game as "The standard for hammers!", Mario swings the hammer down on the enemy's head. If you do the timed hit correctly, he would swing the hammer down a second time. This is one of the stronger hammers, but it is not as strong as the Masher. The Super Hammer has an attack rating of 40, and can be purchased at the Marrymore Inn/Shop, the Seaside Town Weapon and Armor Shop, the Sea Item Shop, and the Sunken Ship Salesman for a blowout price of 70 Coins. Masher: The game description for the Masher will say "Makes monster mash!" Mario swings the hammer down on the enemy's head and if you do the timed hit correctly, he will swing the hammer down a second time. This exceptional hammer is Mario's strongest weapon available until you reach Nimbus Land, with an attack rating of 50. The Masher can be found in Booster Tower. Ultra Hammer: Described in the game as "The ultimate hammer!", Mario swings the hammer down on the enemy's head. If you do the timed hit correctly, he would swing the hammer down a second time and then do a side swing. This is the strongest hammer attack that Mario can obtain. This weapon is weaker than the Lazy Shell, which could of been found at this point in the game. The Ultra Hammer has an attack rating of 70 and can be found in the Gate area, one room past the second save point. Nok Nok Shell: The game description for the Nok Nok Shell is "Kick to attack." Mario will kick this green Koopa shell at the enemy and there will be a bunch of small stars that will flash on the screen when it hits. If you do a Timed Hit correctly, you will see a big star flash on the screen before the small stars. This is the second weapon that Mario will receive. This will improve Mario's attack strength and it will be the first shell attack that Mario can use. The Nok Nok Shell has an attack Rating of 20 points and is given to Mario after getting to the bottom of Midas River. It can also be purchased at Seaside Town Weapon and Armor Shop for 20 coins. Troopa Shell: The game description for the Troopa Shell says "Kick with it!" Mario will kick this red Koopa shell at the enemy and there will be a bunch of small stars that will flash on the screen when it hits. If you do a Timed Hit correctly, you will see a big star flash on the screen before the small stars. This is the second shell attack that Mario will have to opportunity of using. It is equal in strength to the Masher, but is more expensive. The Troopa Shell has an attack rating of 50 and can be purchased at the Seaside Town Weapon and Armor Shop for 90 Coins. Lazy Shell: The game description for the Lazy Shell says "Toss a shell at an enemy!" Mario will kick a huge red Koopa shell at the enemy and there will be a bunch of small stars that will flash on the screen when it hits. If you do the timed hit correctly, you will see a big star flash on the screen before the small stars. With an attack ratting of 90, this is the strongest shell attack and the strongest weapon that Mario can receive. The Lazy Shell can be found by climbing the vine created by the Rose Town Gardener after you have given him the Seed and Fertilizer. Punch Glove: The game description of the Punch Glove says "Knock out power!" Mario will punch his enemy and If you do the timed hit correctly, Mario will do an uppercut after the punch. This will allow Mario to do an improved punching attack, like the one he used in the beginning of the game. The Punch Glove has an attack rating of 30 and can be purchased at the Moleville Item Shop and the Seaside Town Weapon and Armor Shop for 36 Coins. Mega Glove: The game description of the Mega Glove says "Packs a Mega wallop!" Mario will punch his enemy and if you do the timed hit correctly, Mario will do an uppercut after the punch. This is the strongest Punch Attack that Mario can obtain, with an attack rating of 60. The Mega Glove can be purchased at the Nimbus Land Item Shop for 102 Coins. Mallow: Froggie Stick: The game description of the Froggie Stick says "Frogfucious made it." Mallow will swing the stick down on the enemy's head. If you do the timed hit correctly, he will take a second swing at the enemy. This is the first weapon that Mallow can find and it is also the first stick attack that Mallow will have available. Mallow can get it from Frogfucious, at Tadpole Pond, after he gives him the Cricket Pie. The Froggie Stick has an attack rating of 20. Ribbit Stick: The game description for the Ribbit Stick says "It'll come in handy." Mallow will swing the stick down on the enemy's head. If you do the timed hit correctly, he will take a second swing at the enemy. This is the strongest of Mallow's stick attacks, with an attack rating of attack 50. The Ribbit Stick can be purchased at the Seaside Town Weapons and Armor Shop for 86 Coins. Cymbals: The game description for the Cymbals says "Scare enemies with a clash." Mallow will clap the cymbals together to do damage to the enemy. If you do the timed hit correctly, he will move them apart after the hit to do more damage. This is the first cymbal attack that Mallow can obtain. Sonic Cymbals: The game description of the Sonic Cymbal says "Puts noise to work for you!" Mallow will clap the cymbals together to do damage to the enemy. If you do the timed hit correctly, he will move them apart after the hit to do more damage. With an attack rating of 70, this is the strongest weapon and the strongest cymbal attack that Mallow can find. It can be found in Bowser's Keep after completing the Lava and Moving Block Room, which is one of the possible rooms that the 6 Big Red Doors will lead to. Whomp Glove: "The old double whammie!" is what the game description says about the Whomp Glove. Mallow will hit the enemy with both hands. If you do the timed hit correctly, Mallow will then slam both hands down on the enemy's head. This is a stronger version of Mallow's punch attack that can be found after you have entered the Marrymore area. The Whomp Glove has an attack rating of 40 and can be purchased at the Marrymore Inn/Shop, the Seaside Town Weapon and Armor Shop, the Sea Item Shop, and the Sunken Ship Salesman for 72 Coins. Sticky Glove: The Sticky Gloves game description says "Launches a punch attack." Mallow will hit the enemy with both hands. If you do the timed hit correctly, Mallow will then slam both hands down on the enemy's head. This is the strongest punch attack that Mallow can obtain. The Sticky Glove has an attack rating of 60 and can be purchased at the Nimbus Land Item Shop for 98 Coins. Geno: Double Punch: The game description for Geno's Double Punch says "A handy double rocket punch." Geno will launch two rockets at the enemy and it will make cause a splash of small stars when it hits. If you did the timed hit correctly, there a big star shaped flash will occur before the splash of small stars. This is the second punch attack that Geno will be able to use and it will be one of the easiest of his weapons to get a timed hit with. Geno's Double Punch has an attack rating of 35 and can be purchased at the Seaside Town Weapon and Armor Shop for 88 Coins. Finger Shot: The game description for the Finger Shot says "Fingers shoot bullets." Geno will fire a bunch of pellets at the enemy and it will make cause a splash of small stars when it hits. If you did the timed hit correctly, there a big star shaped flash will occur before the splash of small stars. This is the first weapon that Geno can equip. If you go back and talk to Gaz after Geno joins your party, Gaz will give you this for free. This is the first of gun attacks that Geno will have available to use. The Finger Shot has an attack rating of 12 and can be purchased at the Moleville Item Shop for 50 coins or you can get it for free from Gaz in the Rose Town Inn. Hand Gun: The game description for the Geno's Hand Gun says "It packs a kick.". Geno will fire a bunch of bullets at the enemy and it will make cause a splash of small stars when it hits. If you did the timed hit correctly, there a big star shaped flash will occur before the splash of small stars. This is the second gun attack that Geno will be able to use in the game. Geno's Hand Gun has an attack rating of 24 and can be purchased at the Marrymore Inn/Shop, the Seaside Town Weapon and Armor Shop, the Sea Item Shop, and the Sunken Ship Salesman for 75 Coins. Hand Cannon: The game description of Geno's Hand Cannon says "Shoots bullets from elbow!." Geno will fire a bunch of large bullets (cannon shells) at the enemy and it will make cause a splash of small stars when it hits. If you did the timed hit correctly, there a big star shaped flash will occur before the splash of small stars. This is the third gun attack that Geno can use and it is the best weapon that can be purchased for him. The only weapon that he can use that is stronger than this is the Star Gun, which can be found behind one of the 6 Big Red Doors in Bowser's Keep. Geno's Hand Cannon has an attack rating of 45 and can be purchased at the Nimbus Land Item Shop for 105 Coins. Star Gun: The game description of Geno's Star Gun says "Try shooting stars!." Geno will fire a bunch of stars at the enemy and it will make cause a splash of small stars when it hits. If you did the timed hit correctly, there a big star shaped flash will occur before the splash of small stars. This is the fourth gun attack that Geno can receive and it is the strongest weapon that is in the game for Geno. The Star Gun has an attack rating of 57 and can be found in Bowser's Keep after completing the Gu Goomba Fighting Room, which is one of the 6 Big Red Doors there. Princess Toadstool: Slap Glove: The game description for the Slap Glove says "It slaps 'em silly.". Princess Toadstool slaps her enemy twice. If you correctly do the timed hit, she will slap the enemy even harder for a third time. This is the weapon that the Princess starts with. The Glove has an attack rating of 40. Super Slap: The game description for Princess Toadstool's Super Slap says "The Princess' mega-slap!" Princess Toadstool slaps her enemy twice. If you do the timed hit correctly, she will slap the enemy even harder for a third time. This is the second slap attack that the Princess can get in the game. The Super Slap has an attack rating of 70 and can be found in Bowser's Keep, behind the door leading to the Invisible Floor Room. Parasol: The game description of Princess Toadstool's Parasol says "Inflicts serious pain!" The Princess swings her umbrella down on the enemy's head. If you do the timed hit correctly, she will also open the umbrella and inflict more damage. This is the first of the Princess' fan attacks. The Parasol has an attack rating of 50 and can be purchased at the Seaside Town Weapon and Armor Shop for 84 Coins. War Fan: "A mysterious battle fan!" is what the game description says about Princess Toadstool's War Fan. The Princess swings her fan down on the enemy's head. If you get the timed hit correctly, she will also swing her fan across the enemy's face. This is the second fan attack that the Princess can get. The War Fan has an attack rating of 60 and can be purchased at the Nimbus Land Item Shop for 100 Coins. Frying Pan The game description for the Frying Pan says "Enough iron to be dangerous!" The Princess swings a large frying pan down on the enemy's head. If you do the timed hit correctly, she will swing the pan down on the enemy's head again. This is the strongest weapon that the Princess can get in the entire game. The Frying Pan has an attack rating of 90 and can be purchased at the Moleville Item Shop. The shop sells it as the Metal Pan for 300 Coins. When Princess Toadstool equips the Metal Pan it becomes the Frying Pan. Bowser: Chomp Shell: The game description for Bowser's Chomp Shell says "It's a Kinklink shell." Bowser swings this weapon above his head and then sends it flying toward his enemy. If you do the timed hit correctly, the Chomp Shell will bite the enemy a number of times. This is the first weapon that you can purchase for Bowser, but this is a weaker weapon than the Chomp, which can be found for free in the Booster Tower. The Chomp Shell has an attack rating of 9 and can be purchased at the Marrymore Inn/Shop and the Seaside Town Weapon and Armor Shop for 60 Coins. Chomp: The game description for Bowser's Chomp says "Just spin me at an enemy!" Bowser swings this weapon above his head and then sends it flying toward his enemy. If you do the timed hit correctly, the Chomp will bite the enemy a number of times. This is the first weapon that Bowser can find and it is the first chain attack that Bowser will have available to him. The Chomp has an attack rating of 10 and can be found in the Ancestor's Room of Booster Tower. Spiked Link: The game description of Bowser's Spiked Link is "A studded ball and chain!" Bowser swings this weapon above his head and sends it flying toward his enemy. If you do the timed hit correctly, the spikes will extend out three times. This is the third and strongest of Bowser's chain attacks. The Spiked Link has an attack rating of 30 and can be purchased at the Monstro Town Item Shop for 94 Coins. Hurly Gloves: The game description for Bowser's Hurly Gloves says "A classic Mario-toss attack." Bowser will hurl either a Mario doll or Mario himself at the enemy. This is Bowser's first and only hurl attack. The Hurly Gloves have an attack rating of 20 and can be purchased at the Sea's Item Shop or from the Salesman in the Sunken Ship for 92 Coins. Drill Claw: "A drilling claw!" is what the game description reads for Bowser's Drill Claw. Bowser will take a swipe at the enemy with his claws. If you get the timed hit, he will then drill into the enemy with his left claw. This is the strongest weapon that Bowser can use in the game. The Drill Claw has an attack rating of 40 and can be found in Bowser's Keep behind the door leading to the Terra Cotta Fighting Room.

Thick Shirt: This can be purchased at the Rose Town Item Shop and the Seaside Town Weapons and Armor Shop for 14 coins. It increases Defense by 12 points and Magic Defense by eight points. Work Pants: These can be purchased at the Rose Town Item Shop and the Seaside Town Weapons and Armor Shop for 22 coins. They increase your Speed, Attack and Magic Defense by five points, your Attack and Magic Attack by 10 points, and your Defense by 15 points. Mega Shirt: This can be purchased at the Moleville Item Shop or the Seaside Town Weapons and Armor Shop for 22 coins. It increases Defense by 18 points and Magic Defense by 10 points. Happy Shirt: This can be purchased at the Marrymore Inn/Item Shop and the Seaside Town Weapons and Armor Shop for 38 coins. It increases Defense by 24 points and Magic Defense by 18 points. Sailor Shirt: This can be purchased at the Seaside Town Weapons and Armor Shop, Sea Item Shop, and the Sunken Ship Salesman for 50 coins. It increases Defense by 30 points and Magic Defense by 15 points. Fuzzy Shirt: This can be purchased at the Nimbus Land Item Shop for 70 coins. It increases Defense by 30 points and Magic Defense by 15 points. Fuzzy Dress: This can be purchased at the Nimbus Land Item Shop for 70 coins. It increases Defense by 36 and Magic Defense by 18 points. Fire Dress: This can be purchased at the Hino Mart in the Barrel Volcano and from Croco in Bowser's Keep for 90 coins. It increases Defense by 42 points and Magic Defense by 21 points. Royal Dress: This can be purchased from Croco in his second Bowser's Keep location for 100 coins. It increases Defense by 48 points and Magic Defense by 24 points. Bowser: Work Pants: These can be purchased at the Rose Town Item Shop and the Seaside Town Weapons and Armor Shop for 22 coins. They increase your Speed, Attack and Magic Defense by five points, your Attack and Magic Attack by 10 points, and your Defense by 15 points. Happy Shell: This can be purchased at the Marrymore Inn/Item Shop and the Seaside Town Weapons and Armor Shop for 38 coins. It increases Defense by six points and Magic Defense by three points. Courage Shell: This can be purchased at the Monstro Town Weapons and Armor Shop for 60 coins. It increases Defense by 12 points and Magic Defense by six points. Fire Shell: This can be purchased at the Hino Mart in the Barrel Volcano and from Croco in Bowser's Keep for 90 coins. It increases Defense by 18 points and Magic Defense by nine points. Heal Shell: This can be purchased from Croco in his second Bowser's Keep location for 100 coins. It increases Defense by 24 points and Magic Defense by 12 points. Other: Lazy Shell: The Lazy Shell Armor can be found in the clouds after giving the Gardener in Rose Town the Seed and Fertilizer. Climb the vine the Gardener grows to locate the Treasure Box with the Lazy Shell Armor. The Lazy Shell Armor can be equipped by everyone, but it's a trade-off -- you lose speed and attack power for superior defensive strength. It reduces Speed, Attack and Magic Attack by 50 points each, but increases Defense and Magic Defense by a whopping 127 points each. Super Suit: Perhaps the most mysterious item in Super Mario RPG, the Super Suit is also the hardest item to get! It will be given to you in Monstro Town if you succeed in doing 100 Super Jumps in a battle. (Use Mario's Super Jump Attack on an enemy, then press the Y Button just before hitting the opponent to hop on his head again. Do this 100 times WITHOUT falling off. Good luck!) Everyone can equip the Super Jacket. It increases Speed by 30 points, and Attack, Defense, Magic Attack, and Magic Defense by 50 points.
Amulet: You can receive the Amulet from Booster, after helping him get the Mario Doll off the shelf in Booster Tower. It increases its wearer's Speed by five points, and increases Attack, Defense, Magic Attack and Magic Defense by seven points. Put on Bowser! Antidote Pin: The Antidote Pin increases its wearer's Defense and Magic defense by two points, and protects the wearer from being poisoned. It can be purchased in the Mushroom Kingdom Item Shop, the Rose Town Item Shop, and the Seaside Town Accessory Shop for 28 coins. Attack Scarf: You can receive the Attack Scarf in Monstro Town if you complete 30 consecutive Super Jumps in battle. (Perform Mario's Super Jump Attack, then press the Y Button before landing on your opponent's head to jump again. Do this 30 times without falling off.) The Attack Scarf can be equipped only by Mario, and increases his Speed, Attack, Defense, Magic Attack and Magic Defense by 30 point. B'Tub Ring: The B'Tub Ring can only be worn by Princess Toadstool, and can be purchased at the Marrymore Inn/Shop for 145 coins. If you have the Princess use the Mystery Egg ten times while she has the B'Tub Ring equipped, the Mystery Egg will transform in to the Lamb's Lure. (The Mystery Egg can be bought in Moleville.) The B'Tub ring has no effect on the Princess'd status. Coin Trick: The Coin Trick can be purchased from the Frog on the second floor of the Seaside Town Elder's House for 36 Frog Coins. Mario is the only character who can equip this item, and it has no effect on his status. The Coin Trick doubles the amount of gold you would of normally get at the end of a fight. Exp. Booster: The Experience Booster can be bought from the Frog on the second floor of the Seaside Town Elder's House for 22 Frog Coins. Whoever equips the Experience Booster will receive twice as many Experience Points as the rest of your party. It has no effect on status and can be worn by all people in the group. Fearless Pin: This can be bought at the Rose Town Item Shop and the Seaside Town Accessory Shop for 130 coins. Everyone can equip it, and whoever wears it will be protected from Fear attacks. It also increases its wearer's Defense and Magic Defense by five points. Feather: This is dropped by Dodo in the Nimbus Land Castle if you avoid being detected by him. (If he sees you and makes you fight him, he won't leave the Feather behind.) Anybody can equip the Feather, and it increases its wearer's Speed by 50 points, and increases Magic Attack and Defense by five points. Put on Mallow! Ghost Medal: This is the reward for finding the 3 Musty Fears' flags. Everyone can equip it, but its effects remain mysterious. The Ghost Medal supposedly increases its wearer's defensive powers, but no status changes occur if you equip it. Jinx Belt: You will receive this item at Jinx's Dojo after defeating Jinx three times in Monstro Town. The Jinx Belt protects its wearer against fatal attacks, while raising Speed by 12 points, Attack by 27 points, and Defense by 27 points. Put on Mario! Jump Shoes: The Jump Shoes can be bought in the Mushroom Kingdom Item Shop, the Rose Town Item Shop, and the Seaside Town Accessory Shop for 30 coins. They allow Mario to damage spiked enemies (like Spikey in Bandit's Way) with his Jump Attacks. They also increase Mario's Speed by two points, Defense by one point, Magic Attack by five points and Magic Defense by one point. Quartz Charm: You can receive the Quartz Charm by defeating Culex in Monstro Town. It protects its wearer against fatal attacks, increases their Attack and Magic Attack by 50%, and doubles Defense and Magic Defense. Put on Princess! Rare Scarf: The box that holds the Rare Scarf is hidden among the clouds below Nimbus Land. Anybody can equip it, and it increases its wearer's Defense and Magic Defense by 15 points each. Put on Geno! Safety Badge: The Safety Badge is received by defeating Hidon in the Sunken Ship. Anybody can equip it to prevent damage from Poison and Fear attacks. It also increases its wearer's Defense and Magic Defense by five points each. Safety Ring: This item is found in a hidden room in the Sunken Ship, and can be equipped by everybody. It protects its wearer from fatal attacks and prevents any negative conditions from affecting them. It also increases its wearer's Speed, Defense and Magic Defense by five points each. Scrooge Ring: The Scrooge Ring can be purchased from the Frog on the second floor of the Seaside Town Elder's House for 50 Frog Coins. The Special Attacks of the character who has the Scrooge Ring equipped will only use half the Flower Points that are normally needed. Any member of your party can equip it. Signal Ring: The Signal Ring can be found in Nimbus Land after defeating Valentina. Croco will drop it after you talk to him in the far-right building in the village. The Signal Ring will make a ringing sound when you enter a screen where a Treasure Box is still hidden. This is a must have!! It increases its wearer's Speed by 10 points. Troopa Pin: The Troopa Pin the reward for climbing the cliff at Land's End in under 12 seconds. It can be worn by anyone, increases its wearer's Attack and Magic Attack by 50%, and increases Speed by 15 points. Trueform Pin: This item prevents you from being turned in a Mushroom or Scarecrow. It can be purchased at the Rose Town Item Shop and the Seaside Town Accessory Shop for 60 coins, or found for free in the Kero Sewers after defeating the Pandorite. Everyone can equip it, and it increases its wearer's Defense and Magic Defense by four points. Wake Up Pin: The Wake Up Pin can be purchased at the Rose Town Item Shop and the Seaside Town Accessory Shop for 42 coins. It can also be received from the Vault Guard hiding in the Mushroom Kingdom's Guest Room for free, when Smithy's forces are occupying the city. The Wake Up Pin protects its wearer from Sleep attacks, and increases their Defense and Magic Defense by three points. Zoom Shoes: The Zoom Shoes can be purchased at the Seaside Town Accessory Shop for 100 coins, or can be picked up for free near the Mine Room in Booster Tower. Anybody can equip them, and they increase the wearer's Speed by 10 points, Defense by five points and Magic Defense by five points.
