| Adult Summer Reading Volunteers Needed | ||||||||
| HOME | ||||||||
| This years summer reading theme is "Dragons, Dreams and Daring Deeds" with that in mind the library is taking a medieval approach to programming. One program in specific that we are very excited about is our Renaisance Faire that will be a combined effort of many agencies in town. Because so many groups are involved many children will be invited to attend this event. The Faire will have various "medieval" inspired game/activity and food booths that each child can visit througout the event. Our tentative plan is to run the Faire on Friday July 15th from 1-4 p.m. with two hours dedicated to gaming and the last hour will be a wrap up where the children will recieve summer reading awards etc. As you can see it's definately a big undertaking. Because it is so large we are in dire need of responsible adults who can help us by dressing as medieval characters and helping to run a booth. We would even like to have some strolling characters like minstrils, and jesters or knights and ladies to simply help "police" the area. If you would like to help with this event please contact the library at: 270-692-4698 and leave your name, number and any idea you have for a character. We will contact you closer to time to give you details on your booth or to finalize any special needs you may have if you are one of our strolling helpers. Thanks so much for you help! We look forward to working with you! |
