Eleven months after the oil spill, the affected coastline has been ‘apparently’ cleaned of oil. The environmental organisations criticize the position of the Spanish Government, which continues to deny the long-term harmful effects of the oil on the ecosystem.

The oil forms a layer on the seabed, killing and polluting life in the area, affecting all levels of the food chain.
