| Reviews: Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting (SNES version review) Developer: Capcom Publisher: Capcom Year released: 1992 (Arcade), 1993 (SNES) Number of Players: 1-2 simultaneously Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting is basically an upgraded version of CE with a few new additions. Characters have new moves, and most of all; this is the fastest version of SF II available, at least until SSF II Turbo. You can change the speed in the options menu in the SNES version. Graphics: (85%) Better than those found in the SNES version of SF II: TWW. Between the games, the backgrounds for the most part look better than those found in TWW, and the goofy character portraits are now replaced with better ones. Control: (95%) Exactly the same as TWW. No changes here. Sounds: (90%) The music sounds just a bit better, and the announcer talks a bit more before and after each match. Gameplay: (90%) Gameplay in SF II Turbo is faster and seems more fun than the slower gameplay of TWW. The AI of computer players seems to be more intelligent, as they are a bit harder to beat. The game also seems more balanced than TWW. Replayability: (72%) Its Street Fighter II again! There are only two modes available Normal, which plays like Championship Edition, and Turbo, which is the new version and plays faster. Characters also have new moves in Turbo mode, as stated before. Bottom Line: This is the best version of SF II before Super Street Fighter II. Those who have already played TWW and/or (S)CE should probably pass up SF II Turbo and try out Super SF II instead, also for the SNES. Final Score: (86%) B Reviewed by: Shadowdragon XX |
