| Introduction | ||||
| The thing is, you've probably seen the old Mario cartoons at some point in your life. There were three: The Super Mario Bros. Super Show, The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3, and Super Mario World. They were pretty popular, especially the first one, which ran over 50 episodes in total. The other two were spinoffs, which featured a slightly different artwork and style, as well as some different voices. Super Mario World was released in 1991. Now nearly 10 years later, Mario and the gang have finnaly got a whole T.V new series, this time it's called Mario Anime (or that's what we call it in the U.S.) As far as we know, it features a new cast list, and a different plot. Whereas the last cartoon, Super Mario World, took place in the SNES era, this one takes place in the N64/ Gamecube one. Because of this, everyone is 10 years older, and that's not the only thing...... Are you ready to hear this? O.K. here it goes. It's a more mature cartoon. I mean there's no extemely bad language, violence, or anything of that nature, but it does have some mild swearing, and some sexual content. Many people are stressing the fact that the whole cartoon is just sex. That's not true. Most of it are the adventures of Mario and co battling his enemies. However, it's still violent. Remember when nintendo said they were going to create a more mature Mario? Well it's not just the games!
