| I'm from Ecuador. I have two B.S. degrees, Industrial Engineering and Construction Engineering, from the University San Francisco de Quito. I have worked as a college math, physics, computer science and English teacher and as data base designer and technical support for Peoplesoft and SSA products. I completed a Master's Degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign thanks to a Fulbright Scholarship. I am currently working on my Ph.D. from Georgia Tech at the College of Computing. My web page at the college has current information, photos and my father's art gallery, Galeria Mario Romero Escobar. At Illinois, I worked with the Cognitive Computation Group headed by Professor Dan Roth. Currently, at Georgia Tech, I am working on visual perception and graphics, with professor Aaron Bobick at the Aware Home Research Initiative. When I finish my CS studies I plan to go back to Ecuador and apply my skills at my best where they might be needed most. In the long run, I believe we all have to work toward a common goal: to abolish poverty! I speak Spanish, French and English. I enjoy going to the movies, eating, biking, drawing, (Natallia sugested I include sleeping), listening to music, surfing the web and being with my friends, my family and, especially, with my wife, Natalia. Atlanta, July 25, 2003. Here are a few pictures from 1998 - 2000... |
