2/11 MEETING NOTES
Hi All,

What a great time we had!  Thank you all for coming.  And, also, thank you to those who were able to bring food and wine.  The home-made herb cheese balls were especially addictive...yummy!  I was also very impressed with how good our "cheap" French wines were, I didn't have a bad glass.  And, although we were kicked out of the bookstore and into the cafe for having too much fun, I think it turned out nicely.

A Moveable Feast met with mostly good reviews.  Discussion tended toward Hemingway's larger-than-life life and personality.  Thankfully, some members know A LOT about him and they added much to our discussion.  We addressed issues of fact vs. fiction regarding some of his stories.  We also debated the right of the living to publish an author's work posthumously, without permission from the author...mixed reactions, of course.  Most memorably, though, was our mini "tribute" to Hemingway with our indulgence of great wine, cheese, and discussion!!

Our next meeting is Monday, March 11th at 7pm.  We decided to have it in a private setting and Joanne has graciously invited us into her home in Larkspur.  Directions, etc will be forthcoming.  Our current selection is As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner.  Remember, you can pick up the book at a 10% discount at Book Passage in Corte Madera.

Our website has once again been updated...check it out http://www.geocities.com/marin_book_club

FYI:  we are no longer accepting new members. For those who have not RSVP'd to any meetings and also do not RSVP for March, I will be removing your e-mail address from the listserv after the March meeting.  Remember, even if you RSVP that you cannot attend, that still lets me know you are interested in remaining in the group and you will not be removed from the group.  But, if I don't hear from you at all for three meetings in a row, I'll assume you have lost interest and remove your e-mail from the list.  This policy was discussed and agreed upon at the first meeting.
If our numbers should ever dwindle and we feel we need new members, we will open it up again.  If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask me.  Again, as long as you RSVP, even if it to say you cannot make the meeting, your e-mail will not be removed from the listserv.

I'll request RSVP's about 10 days before our March meeting, please RSVP 3 days before the meeting.  Our hostess will need to know how many she will be accomodating.  I'm already looking forward to another fun evening with everyone!!
