I haven't actually physically tried this, but this apparently is how Marilyn used to do her make-up:

Tools:

tweezers

eyebrow brush

triangular sponge

circular sponge

eyeshadow brush

eyelash curler

blush brush

lip brush

a medium- length, strip of false eylashes

Make-up:

moisturizer with sunscreen SPF 15

liquid foundation

concealer

translucent, loose face powder

golden-brown eyebrow pencil or 1/2 shade darker than your natural brow color

clear mascara

medium brown eyeshadow

frosted white powder eyeshadow

liquid black eyeliner

black mascara

rosy-pink blush

reddish/flesh- toned lip pencil

red lip color

clear red lip gloss

black eyeliner pencil

Application:

1) Tweeze stray hair beneath brow bone

2) Smooth moisturizer over face and neck.

3) Dot (using stipple method) concealer under eyes to lighten the area.

4) Place foundation at center of face. Using the triangular sponge, blend it outward.

5) Using the circular sponge, smooth loose powder over face placing extra

powder on the chin, bridge of nose and the under eye areas.

6) Using short, strokes of the eyebrow pencil, fill eyebrows into a curvy arch.

7) Use eyebrow brush to blend in eyebrow color.

8) Sweep clear mascara over eyebrows to lock in shape and color.

9) Apply medium brown eyeshadow into the crease of the eye. Blend eyeshadow well.

10) Sweeping outward and downward apply frosted white eyeshadow to the lid and browbone.

11) Using black liquid eyeliner, line the eye, as close as possible to the lashline, sloping downward.

12) Curl eyelashes

13) Cut strip of false eyelashes in half and apply them to the outer corner of the lid. Push down on the corner of lash while the glue is drying to produce the come- hither look.

14) Apply black mascara to upper and lower lashes.

15) Draw a thin line under the eye using the medium brown eyeshadow and the thin eyeshadow brush. The line should start where the lashes begin and slope downward past the outer lashes.

16) Sweep cheeks with rosy- pink blush.

17) Line lips with the red/flesh-toned lip pencil.

18) Using lip brush, fill-in lips with red lipstick, blot re-apply and then blot again.

19) Using your finger, dot the clear red lipgloss in the center of your bottom lip. This will produce a pouty effect.

20) Using a black eyeliner pencil, draw a beauty mark on the left side of the face.

21) Set make-up by lightly dusting face with loose powder
