
Museo de Medicina Tradicional y Herbolaria

This museum of traditional herbal medicine, in the south Cuernavaca suburb of Acapantzingo, occupies a former resort residence built by Maximilian, the Casa del Olvido. During his brief reign, the Austrian-born emperor came here for trysts with La India Bonita, his Cuernavacan lover. The building was restored in 1960, and the house and gardens now preserve the local wisdom of folk medicine. The shady gardens are lovely to wander through, and you shouldn't miss the 200 orchids growing near the rear of the property.
Located in an estate of four hectares - one house that Maximiliano of Hapsburg acquired in 1856, denominated Pavilion of the Emperors, the garden and museum, explained, is propositive sample of the Mexican medicinal plants. It is constituted to rescue and to foment the use that they have had between the indigenous and rural population and, most important, is a form to preserve a cultural patrimony

Templo y Convento de la Santa Cruz

In Independent Mexico it has been place of events of great political relevance; here several conspiradores in 1810 were imprisoned, among them the Corregidor, Lic. Castillo de Chapultepec
