Tiger Alley
Productions based in South Australia has independent film as its endeavour.
Documentary and shorts production is the main focus
currently. Experimentation and creativity are the objectives behind all works. At the
same time projects carry messages and follow a narrative format, both
significant factors to the creative process. The aim behind our final
product is not only to entertain but to leave the audience with something to
think about. It is important to us that we express art but don't
exploit it to a point where it stops making sense.
Short film is
becoming an increasingly accepted medium in the industry. Prestigious
festivals like Cannes have added the genre into their program, while other
events are staged to specifically showcase both local and international
creations. It is Tiger Alley's conviction that the short film will establish a secure place for itself next to the popular feature length
movie.
Tiger Alley
Productions supports artists from a diverse background, including
ethnicity. For the greater part of Australia's entertainment history racial
differentiation has been an issue of hindrance if not contempt. This has
acted to discourage actors of various racial backgrounds from pursuing an
ambitious career. It is up to the independent film maker to embrace the
multicultural identity of our continent and to take a stand so future
generations aren't afraid to dream.
Feature film
will also come into our scope but all ventures require a strong financial
basis. We're therefore taking modest steps as we look onto an optimistic
and promising journey.
