| The Danchuks left Romania in March 1911, taking a freight ship from Tulcea, sailing through the Delta Canal until they reached the high seas. It took two weeks to cross the ocean. The Government had offered immigrant settlers in Dysart, Saskatchewan land in which to build, so when the Danchuks finally arrived on March 27th they bought 1/4 acre for $10/homestead. |
