Marianne Holden
In the 70's, I studied metalsmithing at George Brown College, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.   However, I consider myself to be a self-taught artist.    I am continually researching new techniques through books, courses, experimentation and my "secret" mentor.

A large part of my
Contemporary Collection contains a unique recognizable "signature" texture and my European heritage instills itself into each piece by way of a solid, classic styling.

I am forever being influenced by my travel adventures.

In my most recent collection, I incorporate designs utilizing the mythical gods of the ancient Peruvian civilization,
The Incas

My second greatest inspiration comes from the sea.  My
Sea Shell Collection explores the use of seashells as design elements.  "I want to connect people with that mysterious deep azure waterworld that people cannot enter."

Nature, especially the garden has always had a special place in my heart. I am currently in the process of designing/constructing a 2 dimentional - sculptural "pictoral scene" telling the story of a "moment in time" in the garden.

My works are often displayed by collectors for all to enjoy!

The day I waved goodbye to Holland
and
immigrated to Canada with my parents.
