About "The Gospel According to Spiritism"
"The Gospel According to Spiritism" is a book written by Allan Kardec, that has messages spoken by Jesus Christ, and messages given by Spirits or souls to mediums in a few countries.
Important Ideas from "The Gospel According to Spiritism":
Humans are incarnate souls.
There is reincarnation, which is the return of a soul or Spirit to the bodily life, but in another body, recently made, that has nothing to do with the body that the soul used to live in.
According to Jesus, only someone who is born again can see the Kingdom of God.
We have to reincarnate:
-To spiritually evolve (to become better people)
-To accomplish, with the help of the material element (body), the purposes whose execution God trusted us.
Jesus said that we can't do good things in front of others to be seen, or we won't be rewarded by the hand of our Father (God).To do something good without showing what good you did has great merit.
Love God above everything else and your neighbor like you love yourself.
Do to others what you wish they would do to you.
Forgive offences, if you want to be forgiven.
We have to be better people, in order to be really happy and to be morally perfect.
If you don't do charity there is no salvation for you.
Charity and humbleness are the way to eternal happiness.
There are material charity and moral charity. Material charity is when you give money or something to someone. Moral charity is about supporting, enduring each other.It's about forgiving someone's weaknesses. It's being good to someone.
It's good to do both kinds of charity,if possible, to be morally perfect like Jesus told us to .We have to be morally perfect, by eliminating our faults from our souls and trying to be better people.Being morally perfect,according to Spiritism, means being really good,by doing lots of charity,to love our enemies,doing good things to those who hate us, and praying for those who harass and calumniate us.
To love enemies is not having for them an affection that isn't in Nature,because the proximity of an enemy makes the heart beat in a very different way than the proximity of a friend does.To love enemies is: not to feel hatred,neither rancour,nor desire of vengeance towards them;forgiving without second intention and unconditionally the evil that they do to us; not refusing any reconciliation; wishing them benefits, instead of wishing them evil; to take delight in the good that happens to them,instead of afflicting ourselves because of it;stretching out a secure hand to them,in case of necessity; to avoid saying, doing anything that could harm them;being good to someone who did something bad to you, without wanting to humiliate that person.Whomever does that executes the conditions of the command: "Love your enemies."
We have to always remain calm, live the difficult situations with resignation, and have faith in the future, so we will not become crazy and not to kill ourselves.
Spiritism shows people who killed themselves revealing their unhappy situation, therefore, if we kill ourselves our souls will have an unhappy future. That can be confirmed by reading the second part, Chapter Five, of "Heaven and Hell", by Allan Kardec.
Spiritism proves to us that no one can disobey the Law of God without being punished.That law is explained in Chapter One of "The Gospel According to Spiritism", by Allan Kardec, and in Third Book, Chapters One to Twelve of "The Spirits' Book", by Allan Kardec.
The Law of God forbids suicide.
One who kills oneself will get to an entirely contrary result in comparison to the one that was expected, and runs away from a misfortune to fall into another that is worse, longer and more terrible.
Suicide is an obstacle to the reunion, in the other world, with people that you like,who died, whom you there expect to meet.
There are other inhabited planets, besides Planet Earth. Jesus said: In my Father's house there are many mansions.The Father's house is the Universe. The different mansions are worlds that circulate in the infinite space,offering Spirits appropriate stations to their advancement.
Among the worlds of the Universe,there are planets that are physically and morally inferior to Earth. Others are equivalent to our planet,and another planets are more or less superior to Earth,in every signification.In inferior worlds, the existance is totally material, passions reign sovereign, the moral life almost does not exist.While the moral life develops itself,the influence of the matter diminishes, in a way that, in more advanced worlds,life is totally spiritual.
