| Casa da Nossa Senhora da Concei��o is a house built in the beginning of the 19th century following the typical construction of the region Beira Alta. The house is classified by the national agency for typical arquitecture preservation IPPAR. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| There is a magnificent view of the North Slope Serra da Estrela and one may enjoy the beauty of the highest peak of continental Portugal covered by snow (in winter). | The house is situated in the highest part of the city of Cabanas de Viriato, 100 metres from the church, from the Cross Monument (Cristo-Rei) and from the palace of the consul Aristides Sousa Mendes. |

| Cabanas de Viriato belongs to Carregal do Sal district in Viseu Region and it is very much evident the heritage of old palaces so typical of Beira Alta. This city was also the place where Aristides Sousa Mendes lived being this a reason of proud for the locals as this diplomat saved thousands of Jews from the Holocaust during the Second World War. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Cabanas de Viriato is well served by roads being near the highway (IP5) that crosses the country between Aveiro and Vilar Formoso, next to Carregal do Sal. It is also near from Viseu (20 minutes), Coimbra (45 minutes) and Aveiro (1 hour). | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| In a 15 Kms range one can find places to play sports or "refresh body and soul" at resorts such as Urgeiri�a with swimming pool and tennis facilities or Termas of S.Gemil and Termas of Felgueira, both with Spa facilities. If one does not want to drive he/she may walk freely and without traffic problems in the city roads or in the countryside. Alternatively, one may enjoy bicycling, having the beautiful scenery of Serra da Estrela, of the forest or of the small typical villages. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
