It was a beautiful sunny day back in June of 2000, when he saw her for the first time. Although he was a loner, there was something special about her.
They exchanged a few friendly words and a passionate stare, and moved on to the phone numbers. It was on that very same day that they secretly vowed to get to know each other!
The persistant phone calls paid off after two weeks when they decided to get together, they would blossom into a couple who could not be seen without the other. In November of 2001, Steve proposed! The couple were to be married in October of 2002.
But all good things must come to an end.... Or so we thought.
Steve and Maria seperated after living togther for one year. It must have been the saddest time for both of them, for they knew in their hearts that they were meant to be!
Months went by as they tried to put their lives back in order, both wasting time until they would be reunited.
Then one day she got another phone call, but this one was urgent. He voiced his feelings for the first time & didn't hold anything back! He told her he wanted to work on their differences, and that in the meantime she should continue to wear his ring!
She jumped in her car, drove 4 hours to see him, and that very night, sitting on the sofa of their once shared dwelling, they decided to keep their origional wedding date!
The phone calls started going out that night, everyone was in shock! The love of these two young people had survived great trials!
NOW- It is with great pleasure that I tell their story as an introduction to the life they once again share. All who know them agree- they are much better together. Let the tears of joy fill your eyes freely, for this is one bond strong enough to face anything.
On October 19, he will take her as his Bride, and we will remember the day, they became one in the eyes of God!
