SCC – French Kennel Club –
Dear
Mrs Leclercq,
After
your letter dated 1st November 2001 concerning the decision taken
about the Parson Russell Terrier and the Jack Russell terrier, we would like to
give you the following precisions :
-
The club and the zootechnical commission have
taken this decision because the french dogs population is divided into two
populations having the same genetic origin.
-
From an historical point of view, it is normal
that England has recognized the european population of this small primitive
terrier.
-
This country has not recognized the small height
population and that is its right.
-
But telling that Australia is a zootechnical reference, France would have been
able to aspire to it regarding the
important population of terrier-type bicoloured ratters, that have been known
for several centuries in our country.
The
Parson and Jack Russell terrier Club is an example for its selection quality, absolutely in adequacy with the spirit of the
breed founder. There
are enough terriers that have lost their initial working abilities.
We
don’t want to see the development of an umpteenth
house terrier.
I think to have been precise enough and I can only encourage you to take part in the working trials.
Faithfully
The
President
R.
