Giant Pandas are very fun and  exciting to learn about.  The structural characteristics of a Giant Panda are very unique.  Giant Pandas’ habitats are in China.  Their behavioral characteristics are very uncommon to people.  The Giant Pandas’ food source is found in the forest  There are many interesting facts to learn about pandas.

The  structural characteristics of a Giant Panda are very unique.  Giant Pandas have black and white fur.  This fur is very thick to protect the panda from the cold.  Strong jaws are a fabulous structural characteristic.  The strong jaws are good, because Giant Pandas eat bamboo.  Bamboo is hard to chew.  One other structural characteristic is that the Giant Panda is 4 to 6 feet tall.  This helps them to protect himself from danger.

Giant Pandas’ habitats are in China.  The Giant Panda lives in dense forests of bamboo.  It also lives in conifers at latitudes of 5,000 to 10,000 feet tall.  The habitats are cold, rainy, and foggy.

Their behavioral characteristics are very uncommon compared to people.  The Giant Panda moves slow.  It moves slow even when it is in danger.  Giant Pandas spray urine wherever they go.  They do this to communicate with each other.  One behavioral characteristic that is very important is their excellent hearing.  This is good to help them survive.

The Giant Panda’s food source is found in the forest.  Giant Panda’s love bamboo.  They also eat fish, but not very often.  Giant Pandas like irises too.

There are many interesting facts to learn about pandas.  Giant Pandas have existed since 600,000 years ago.  There are only 1,000 left in the wild.  They sometimes live in groups of 2 and up to 28.  To Chinese people a Giant Panda means peace.

The Giant Panda is one of my favorite animals.  Giant Pandas’ furs aren’t soft, but have an oily feeling.  They are very shy animals, but the male will fight to win a mate.  If you want more information you can go to the school library and check out The Giant Panda Book, National Geographic Book Of Mammals, or go to www.giant-panda.com.
