felt stuffed animals page 2

Step 5 This is probably the hardest step but once you get the hang of it, it'll be simple. On the face of the animal (use the same felt peice taht has the circle on it) make 3 little marks in the shape of an upside-down triangle. Take your emboirdery floss and bring your embroidery needle up at one of the top points if the triangle. Bring the needle back down into the bottom tip of the triangle. That should create a long, diagonal stitch. Keep doing that moving across the triangle to the other point. Make sure to bring your needle down into the same hole everytime. It wont look right if you don't.
Step 6 Now, underneath your triangle make a long stich (still with the embroidery floss) downwards. Then, if you're doing an animal that has whiskers, stitch 3 long stitches on either side of you're long downwards stich. I find that must animals don't need a mouth but, if you don't make whiskers, make a mouth. To do t hat, just do 2 little stitches that go slightly diagonally upwards on either side of the long downward stitch.
Step 7 Now sew on you're button eyes. I'm assuming you know how to sew on buttons.
Step 8 Now you're finally ready to stitch up your animal! Pin the two peices togethor and start sewing (with normal thread now) by one of the legs (or anywhere). Use an overhand stich and don't worry too much about evenness or any of that. When you've sewed up a limb, I'd suggest that you stuff it before you go on. Just take a little peice of polyfill and stuff in. Use as little or as much as you'd like. Keep sewing. This might take a while, depending on how good of a sewer you are. Sew all the limbs, the ears and the head as you go along. Stuff the body when you've only got an inch or so left to sew. Sew it up and you're done.

Voila!
