| The following pages serve as a testament to the love of a great wife and mother. Please read what we have written and spend as much time with the photos as you like. Marjorie L. Funk, devoted wife and mother, entered into Eternal Life on May 28, 2001. Her loving mother and father, Lucetta and Frank Turner, preceded Marge in death. She leaves her devoted husband, Jim and children Mark, Paula, Hope and Luke to cherish memories of her wonderful life. Also left to remember all her love are grandchildren, Laura, Crystal, Adam, Ian and Sarah. Marge's education included Notre Dame H.S., Chicago; Loyola University, Chicago; Louvain University (Belgium); and Christopher Newport College, Newport News. She received her Master's degree from Golden Gate University. Marge dedicated herself to many worthy organizations including The York County Historical Commission, and The Yorktown Women's Club. Marge held a seat on the Thomas Nelson Community College Board, the State Board of Community Colleges and the state board of the Virginia Federation of Republican Women. Marge's ideas and actions influenced others in political, civic and Catholic Church communities wherever she lived. A Mass of the Resurrection was held Thursday, May 31, 2001 at Langley AFB Bethel Chapel.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Thomas Nelson Community College Scholarship Fund in Marge's name. Or make a contribution to help with the upkeep of elephants at the Virginia Zoo in Marge's name.
