Hey Guys and Gals. I
didn’t want to mention this until I was ready to post it. As some of you know,
I’m still in touch with Elijah. I had shown him the “surprise” story I posted
over the weekend to make sure it had his approval before I posted it. He offered
to write a response to the story from his point of view and I’m happy to be
able to share that with you now. I’m
working on the next part of this and with his okay it will be posted sometime
in the not too distant future.
Hugs,
Maggie

Killian and I were going over arrangements for a visit from the
local Ulfric. Tomas wanted to discuss hunting on Killian's property. There was plenty of game but that wasn't
what concerned the Master vampire.
He explained. “I don't want Judah and the others to feel intruded
upon. This is their hunting ground.”
I shook my head. “Judah will do what ever you tell him to and so
will the others. I doubt he feels threatened.”
“Still I'd like to run it through him.”
“You're the boss.” I shrugged.
“What's wrong with you Lija? You've been jumpy and out of sorts
all week. I don't think poor Aidan has
recovered from that little fracas the two of you had.”
“He started it.” I defended.
“And I expect better from you than to let one so young bait
you. You are Tore, not some underling
looking to rise in the structure. You
even growled at poor Mary. That I still don't understand.”
“It was a mistake. I apologized later.” I muttered.
“It shouldn't have happened. Do I need to isolate you?”
I bowed my head.
He put an arm around my shoulder. “I know you miss her. I hope to
send you back to St. Louis soon but I need you focused, especially with
Frederick arriving next month.”
I nodded. We were still working out details of the Ulfric's
request when Mary rushed in.
She interrupted. “Someone is down at the cottage. Do you want me
to send Ian?”
Killian shook his head. “No. Elijah can handle it. He needs the
distraction.”
I started to protest but the look he gave me told me not to push
it. So I left the main house and took the well-worn path down to the cottage.
It was dark inside except for small lights flickering through the
bay window. Someone was using candles. Maybe they didn't want to draw attention
to themselves.
I walked up to the front door and turned the knob, pushing open
the door as quietly as possible. Walking in, my sense of smell was assaulted
with the aroma of roses and heather, but there was something else just
underneath… Lilacs. Cursing, I vowed to get even with the perpetrator of such a
cruel joke.
Growling low in my throat I let my eyes adjust to the lighting.
Peering into the darkness of the hallway, I saw a shape. It seemed so familiar
but I knew my brain must have been playing tricks on me, at least until she
spoke.
She moved into the muted light, brushing a rose petal across her
lips. She giggled at my obviously surprised expression. Goddess how I had
missed that sound. Grinning I closed the distance between us, picking her up
into my arms when I was close enough. Burying my face in the curve of her neck
I inhaled deeply the scent that I had begun to wonder if I ever would get the
chance to experience again.
My mind was full of all kinds of questions but my beast would have
none of that. Carrying my love into the master bedroom, I gently lay her on the
bed. I stretched out beside her, pulling her into my arms and capturing her
mouth with my own. All I wanted was to relish her taste and feel her warmth.
All I wanted was her. I didn't want to let her go afraid that it was just a
dream. No dream made me ache this way. Releasing her lips, I sighed. I laid my
head on her chest, listening to her heartbeat and held on to her for dear life.
