Disclaimer: The WWE owns the rights to all the names you recognize. This is being done purely for fun and entertainment. We are not making any money off of this. If you sue us all you’ll get our student loan debts.
Rating: PG-13 for now for language and violence. It will probably move to R in later chapters though due to more graphic violence and sex so if that is going to be a problem you might want to steer clear of this story.
Notes: This is going to a story that is largely based in the WWE with some paranormal elements. We are playing a bit loose with time lines of past WWE events and ages of stars as we see fit and will be trying to remain true to the characters in some cases rather than what we know of their real personal lives. If that is a problem, stop here.
Courting
Destruction: Chapter 3/?
The girls were dragging their feet all through the terminal. It had been a huge blow to both of them to be so close to finishing school only to have their fucked up life ruin it once again. Most of their stuff had been sent to their respective homes. The only thing they'd been allowed to bring was one suitcase of clothing and one small bag with any small personal items they'd like to have along.
Both Rose and Solie had taken great delight in picking clothing that was sure to make their fathers' distinctly uncomfortable, though both had relented and packed a couple outfits that wouldn't cause either man to have a coronary. They were a bit excited and nervous about traveling with their dads.
It seemed that for the time being the girls would be touring with the company until other arrangements could be made. At least that's what the young women had been told. They suspected there was more to it than that but feeling they had done enough to make waves, kept silent.
Hanging back at bit Rose watched the crowd at the Hertz kiosk as Solie tried to get the clerk’s attention to pick up the family’s rental for this leg of the tour. The strawberry blonde’s uncle was supposed to sign for the thing but he and her dad were both being harassed by, well for lack of a better term, ring rats. Okay so maybe they were just over eager fans wanting autographs but did they have to hang over the guys like that. I mean this was her dad and uncle for heaven’s sake. The gross factor was at eleven on a ten point scale. Sighing she looked back at her cousin who was arguing with the clerk and pointing to their jailers…. Fathers. Moving closer she realized they had been booked in a compact car. No way was that working with the two seven foot tall men to say nothing of the foursome’s luggage.
Rose stepped up to the counter realizing the poor clerk was flustered and her cousin’s demands were doing nothing to calm the situation. Raising her voice to be heard over the argument the green eyed girl interjected, “I’m sorry. I realize this is turning into something of a zoo but the sooner you get us into a vehicle we can use, the sooner we all will be out of your hair. I’m sure things will quiet down nicely when that happens. If you don’t have the van we requested what large vehicle do you have? Obviously we need something with a bit of leg room.”
The clerk nodded and started looking the biggest vehicle still in the lot. The foursome soon had the keys to a jeep wrangler. A few autographs and pictures later they were out the door. Solie rolled her eyes at the speculation about their identities heard from a few fans as they walked past. She probably would have said something if Rose hadn’t yanked her arm to follow before she could.
“I just don’t understand why you let those girls assume that there is anything going on with you and anyone they see you with,” Solie told her father still steamed about the comments.
The younger of the two men turned to his daughter as his brother put their luggage in the car, “Would you prefer I tell them you’re my daughter and Rose is my niece? Then they can start tracking down every detail of your lives and analyzing it.” He raised an eyebrow at her.
Solie folded her arms over her chest hating the fact that he had a point. Scrunching down in her seat she decided the best way to deal with the situation was to not deal with it. She put on her headphones drowning out anything else they might have had to say.
Rose smothered a grin at her cousin's antics. She knew how much it irked the other girl to be reminded of her father's fame. If the truth be told she wasn't too thrilled either that both her father and uncle were in the limelight but like a lot of things she seemed better able to deal with it. She sent her uncle a reassuring smile patting his arm. “Don't worry; she'll come around once we get to the arena,” she confided.
“Why does that not make me any happier,” he groused as his brother took a seat behind the wheel.
“Probably because once we get there not only do we have to worry about them but the guys as well,” Rose's father pointed out as he pulled away from the curb.
“Did you have to remind me,” the other man groaned leaning his head back against the seat.
Rose leaned forward to give her dad a one armed hug before sitting back to get her own seatbelt on. “Don’t worry. I think we’re both over our teenaged crushes.”
She giggled as her cousin pulled off her headphones and wiggled her eyebrows adding, “That’s not to say we might not have a few new ones.”
The strawberry blonde playfully punched her. “Hush. If they think we’re on the prowl they’ll never let us out of the hotel room.”
From the front seat, they heard a muttered “If they only knew,” but the radio was turned up before they could ask what that meant.
Rose's father pulled into the lower lot reserved for the talent. Finding a parking spot fairly close and out of range of most fans' cameras he killed the engine waiting for the girls to look at him. “I'm only going to say this once,” he said in his most serious tone. “You two are to stick close for the time being. Until we get a handle on your new powers it would be best, and safer, if you didn't go wandering off.”
“Please,” Solie retorted rolling her eyes. “I think we're aware that most people here are normals. Do you really think that we're really stupid enough to start anything our first night here?”
Her father turned around his mismatched eyes boring into her grey ones. “You better not start anything while you're here,” he growled.
“I think what she meant,” Rose interrupted breaking the staring contest between her uncle and cousin. “Was that we're not going to do anything to bring attention to ourselves.”
“See that you don't,” her father barked. “Girls, please realize we're not trying to punish you; we really are trying to help you.”
“Whatever,” Solie replied flipping her door open, grabbing her backpack and exiting the vehicle with Rose not too far behind her.
The older man turned to his brother. “They listen so well don't they?”
The younger man smiled as he got out and grabbed his gear. “Yes I blame it on your influence.” His brother looked shocked until he gave him a teasing grin. The pair shared a laugh and headed after their daughters hopefully before they could find any trouble.
