Marfon Textil, fabrics for sport

The management of the company proudly assures that 'there are three essential characteristics that define us: the design and creation of our products, the quality of our products and rapid service we provide to our clients.

Founded in 1997, the company began as a producer of elastic fabrics for the active sportswear sector. Since then, all the personnel associated with the company are from the fabric or sportswear production sector, and strive to continually improve the specialization of the company. 90% of the raw material that is used is polyester. Other threads and fibers are mixed with the polyester to obtain specific textures or properties.

Generally, the fabrics are used for the production of t-shirts, polos, trousers, underwear, shirts or sweaters, although special fabrics can be developed for other purposes apart from clothing production, such as the inner lining of sleeping bags.

These fabrics demonstrate their high quality and durability when used to manufacture clothing for sports such as basketball, cycling, soccer, hockey or rugby. For example, it is typical to find these fabrics used for school team uniforms.

PRODUCT

The use of the polyester as the primary raw material, allows to Marfon Textil to be a true specialist in this field. "We are able to offer any texture, range, title or type of polyester.

Polyester is an excellent fiber for competitive sportswear, since, among its many advantages, it allows heat transfers to be printed on the fabric without a problem. It also is a very durable product that allows airflow, dries quickly, has a high component of antipilling, etc.

FASHION

In todays market, however, it is not sufficient to offer fabrics of high technical benefits. The product must also be fashionable.

For this reason, the company develops an annual collection, usually at the beginning of each year. This collection is improved each year and is usually extended by about fifteen to twenty new products.

In addition to the traditional colour cards and samples, there is an endless amount of products that are developed and customized to fit the specific needs of our clients.

A quick look around our show room in Sabadell displays a variety of products that we are able to offer our clients. Our team of research and development continually strives to develop new fabrics to offer our clients.

The customer is able to work closely with the company to reach the ideal end product to suit their specific needs. In this situation, the Marfon personnel act as a tailor to perfectly suit the needs of the customer, not only in creating an ideal fabric, but also adding small elements, such as the jarquard logo.

MADE IN SPAIN

Any type of outsourcing of the production outside of our borders is rejected, as it compromises our quality and service.

Although manual labour is cheaper in other countries, the saving in production costs does not compensate the loss of quality and service. For that, Marfon Textil has a "limitless capacity" of production, since it works with a great number of subcontracted factories that operate exclusively for this company.

All these factories (of spinning, fabrics, dying, finishes, et cetera) are closely situated to Marfon Textil, in the Valls.

In Spain, our present portfolio of clients includes approximately sport article ready-made clothiers of medium and high level. Also, our foreign clientele is continually growing. We currently have distributors in France, Sweden, Greece and Denmark.

Our product also reaches many other countries, such as Germany, Holland, Switzerland or Austria

In fact, our exports represent 75% of our total sales.

Our short and long term goals include expanding our product line and obtaining the quality certification of ISO 2000.
