A Stone mason and farmer. Following the death of his parents, he, with his brother Joseph W. satisfied the debts from their parents estates and acquired the family farm, which they operated in partnership until George A.'s death.

Born in New York, moved with his family to Wisconsin at approx. 9-10 yrs. old.
