August 26, 2008: Welcome to the Web site for Correctional Supervision and Practices. Under this heading of announcements you will find important information regarding the classes including quizzes and next day class activities. Email me at Steve Mardock if you have any questions.

August 27, 2008. I have added the notes for chapter 1 and they should be printed out and brought to class on Tuesday.

September 4, 2008: The first quiz is now available to print out. You will need to return this to class on Tuesday if you want to get credit for it. Also, the chapter 2 notes will be available this weekend. YOu should print these out for class on Tuesday.

September 11, 2008: Quiz 2 is now ready to take. Print it out, mark your answers and then turn it in either Tuesday or Thursday. Chapter 3 notes are ready to print. You will need them for class on Tuesday.

September 18, 2008: NO CLASS ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23. On Thursday we will start the chapter on probation and the outline is available. We will also finish the offense reports. Quiz 3 is now available and is due on Thursday, the 25th.

September 26, 2008: On Tuesday, those students who signed up for the jail tour will meet at the jail at 200 N. Comal at 10am. There will be no class other than the jail tour. There will be no quiz due on next week as well. Class will meet on Thurday next week and I will continue covering chapter 4.

October 2, 2008: Quiz 4 is now ready to print. It is due in class by Thursday. On Tuesday, we will continue the group work on PSI's.

October 10, 2008: Quiz 5 is now ready to print and is due next week by Thursday. Tuesday in class you should turn in your PSI's to me and then we will staff each one. On Thursday, we will do the risk and needs and develop the supervision plan. Part 2 chapter 4 notes are now ready. This covers community corrections in probation. We will probably use them by next Thursday. Also on Thursday, we will complete the paperwork for the prison tour on the 21st so you need to be in class in order to sign the documents.

October 16, 2008: On Tuesday we will meet at the Dominguez state Jail at 9am. The tour will last until 12 noon. We will not have class on Thursday, October 23.

October 21: For those who showed up for the prison tour you found out when you got there that it had been cancelled. I didn't know about the cancellation until I arrived their this morning as well. This involved a statewide lockdown of prisons last night so no one had time to let us know. I have rescheduled the tour and I will let you know the date in class. We will next meet on Tuesday the 28th and will finish the second part of chapter 4. You will need to be there to complete the paperwork for the tour of the juvenile facility on Thursday the 30th.

October 30, 2008: Quiz 3 is now available. It needs to be turned in next week. On Tuesday, we will begin supervision presentations. You need to be ready to turn in your group work at that time. Chapter 5 on jails in now ready to print. You will need this for class on Thursday.

November 7, 2008: Quiz 7 is now posted and needs to be turned in on Tuesday next week. The outline for notetaking is now ready for chapters 6 and 7. You will need this for class on Tuesday. On Thursday we will meet at Dominquez. You should be there a few minutes before 9 since we now have to go through security checks.

Novmeber 20, 2008: Quiz 8 and 9 is now posted and is due on Tuesday, November 25.

December 4, 2008: Quiz 10 is ready to be taken and needs to be turned in to my office no later than December 11. That will be your final.
