Welcome to Daytona Speedway. Originally built in the late 50's, it was completely re-built in 1963, and is known as one of the premier race tracks in the world.

Before the track was built, races were held right on Daytona Beach. The beach is 26 miles long and at low tide nearly 1/4 of a mile wide. Until January, 2000, visitors were permitted to drive out onto the beach, however many forgot about high tide, when the beach becomes only about 200' wide! Joe always wanted to have a towing service on Daytona Beach ;-) At this time barricades are keeping cars off most of the beach.

A day at the beach sure makes one tired. We'll spend the night in one of the beachfront hotels & will meet at sunrise to continue our tour of Florida. Any volunteers to wash the salt off the Chevy?

We hope you all enjoyed that lovely sunrise. We are now heading south, where we will see 72 miles of Atlantic beaches, known as Florida's Space Coast.

Welcome to The Kennedy Space Center & Cape Canaveral......Gateway to the universe.

Technology co-exists with nature as the eagle shares his "space" with the shuttle.

Night launches are so dramatic. We live 200 miles south of the Cape, and on a clear night we can watch a launch from our backyard!

As the shuttle lands safely, we are heading west about 35 miles on Route 50, where we meet Highway 192.

Please fasten your seat belts. MARCY is driving and she can't wait to show you one of her favorite places to visit.

Here we go!!! Just a bit north of Kissimmee is the place MARCY loves the most (other than Key West) - Sea World. Meet Shamu & his friends.

Come on Marcy! You have to drive the Chevy to other places.

Look who's welcoming us to Disney World - Mickey Mouse and, could that be our LIZZY?

Twenty two miles west of Orlando, near Winter Haven, we find ourselves at Cypress Gardens. MAR is going to take over the driving.

Here we can find magnificent gardens, serene lake cruises and, since 1943, the world famous water show.

Period costumed ladies greet us while we walk the peaceful gardens.

Flowers are always in bloom at Cypress Gardens. The Mum Festival is celebrated in November. More than 3 million brilliant blooms fill the gardens with a riot of colors ranging from scarlets, peach, pink, lavenders & ivories. The Poinsettia Festival is in December, offering more than 40,000 blooms. The world's largest topiary show is included during the Spring Festival. One can see a dragon, butterfly, ladybug and much more. During the rest of the year different varieties of plants, flowers and bushes fill our senses with wonder and delight.

Many feel that the hi-lite of their visit is the water show, which always ends with the human pyramid.
