WELCOME TO THE SUNSHINE STATE

Florida was admitted to the Union as the 27th State March 3, 1845. It is bordered by Alabama and Georgia. It's called the Southernmost State & is only 90 miles from Cuba. Your are listening to "Old Folks At Home", the state song. We find it quite appropriate due to the number of retirees who have decided to fish, swim, sail, play golf and enjoy the other amenities of our beautiful state!

FLAG AND STATE SEAL
The red diagonal cross was inspired by the Battle flag of the Confederate States of America, to which Florida belonged. The Indian women scattering flowers represents the states first inhabitants, the Seminoles. The seal also represents the many characteristics of the state, the land of sunshine, flowers, palm trees, rivers and lakes.
