Eliash Hooper came form Stockbridge, Mass. to “Hooper” area about 1800; had wagon shop and blacksmith shop, son Philander age 12 came with him. Philander married 1825 Martha Patterson d/o Amos Patterson and had 4 sons; Robert, Frank and two others.
