DRIVER Glen Thompson

Category 2 - MORRIS MARINA COUPE
Thought to be an ex factory rally car. Built to the same specification as the 1973 Heatway rally cars.
Believed to be the fastest Marina racing in NZ with a standing start 1/4 mile time of 16.79 seconds.
The car has been totally built by Glen and Nev Thompson with no outside help. It is very much a low budget car.

Six years with this car.
Glen first started in motorsport in 1984 in a 1936 Morris 12 Series II! Not the normal entry vehicle for racing...
Glen previously shared Nev Thompsons MGB but then owned the MGB now raced by Barry Hare. Glen has also been racing a Royale Formula Ford which is currently being restored/rebuilt, but he won his first race in 1995 with it.
Like Nev, Glen is a very seasoned competitor and supporter of MG events of all types.

Jim Richards - former driver of Glen's Marina. Favourite car - his 1973 Royale Formula Ford.
WAFFLE
One of the most active (and tallest..) of all series competitors. Like Nev, Glen has been a stalwart of the Auckland branch of the MGCC taking part in anything and everything - concours, motorkana, trials, sprints, drags, hillclimbs and racing.
