My 1st Monza. H body #3. Click a thumbnail to enlarge. 1980 3.8 V6 4spd. . |
Just after I brought it home. @1990/1991 |
There it was washed and waxed I liked my sunbird, but I always wanted a monza. And here it finally was |
Car came with a nice red vinyl interior. I was happy the car was a 4speed and not an Automatic. |
The high milage 3.8 didnt last long. A 1971 307 was pulled from my sunbird and dropped into this monza. Not a whole lot of power but a great revving motor. |
I liked to take the car to the track on test&tune days |
Took a friend along who snapped this pic as the lights rolled green. |
Then came that fateful winter morning where I got a good taste of how a v8 monza with balding summer tires handles on slush covered roads. The above impact was my car at about 35mph into an oncomming 1964/5 Chrysler New Yorker. It was just so happened to be the 2nd largest car ever made . No one was hurt and the Chrysler was barely damaged. My monza however, was beyond repar. It did however drive home! It was a cold drive with no side windows. |
Eventualy I had all worthy parts stripped off for future use. The shell was then hauled away. :( Would this be the last hbody? The beginning and end of my monza journey??.............. |
