Know that feeling? 1001 things to do at work and you just don't seem to finish any of them? Or actually, you finish quite a lot of them, but new things to do pop up even faster than you can get rid of the old things...

Never thought that working at a university (generally not known as a tough workplace) could be so hectic! So much to do, so little time. And inevitably, since I have to divide my attention across so many things, I start making stupid little mistakes. It should not bother me too much, I know I am trying my best and I know most colleagues and students appreciate my work. Still it's a bit frustrating to be passing deadlines more often, being ill-prepared for appointments more often, postponing things more often...I like to do my work in a reliable and good way and this is what people expect from me based on their experience in the past years. I hope this hectic is of a temporary nature but I guess it's something to get used to for a longer period of time.

By the way, my favourite football team AZ also managed to miss the last available prize of the season. So Man United, Inter Milan, Barcleona and Real Madrid have to wait for the unique 'Alkmaar experience' at least one more year...We have to settle for the UEFA Cup again. Still we should not complain too loud and not forget to be proud that AZ is entering the UEFA cup for the fourth consecutive year already. Quite something for a team of a city with not even 100,000 people!
