Marcio Saito is the Chief Technology
Officer for
Cyclades Corporation, a provider of solutions for remote administration of IT
infrastructure. With more than 15 years of experience in networking
and operating systems, Saito helped to pioneer commercial development
of Linux and Open Source. He has a BSEE degree (University of Sao
Paulo), with extension in
Project
Management (University of California, Santa Cruz).

With more than 15 years of experience in networking, operating systems and embedded systems, Marcio Saito is the Chief Technology Officer at Cyclades, a provider of solutions for remote administration of IT infrastructure, and is responsible for the technology strategy and long term vision of the company. He joined Cyclades in 1992 as a software designer and helped it pioneer the commercial development of Linux. After holding several technical positions and leading R&D operations, Saito became responsible in 1996 for developing the company's technology roadmap. Before joining Cyclades, he developed communication software and taught Operating System classes at the University of Guarulhos in Brazil. A strong proponent of the Open Source development model, Saito earned a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of São Paulo in 1988, and a Project Management Extension Certificate from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1994.
