This book was made for a practicing biologist, hence the theme of nature. The cover is made from stained red oak, and kidskin leather. The book was 6.5X7X1.5 inches. The window pane is made of plexiglass and allows a picture on the first page to "show through". The pages had various copper embossed designs, and the page marker was made from an acorn.
