| Together we walked a silent road And separated median to curb A familiar pathway where few tread It was ours to share Mine to dread Walking hand in hand days and nights They pass and we don't care As soon as night comes Yes, that's our time We find each other there Our home is made on little more Than soil, sand or sod If home is where I hung my heart And home fell Broke my heart The road remains and so do I I travel same as you But your hand no longer near I watch you go Without a tear But there will surely come in time When with nothing left for to live I drop beside the devil's road Let blood tears run freely To lose support you showed Did I betray our sacred trust?
