What Ionizer Rocket When October 10, 1999 Where GH Park Weather Overcast, no wind, temp 69 Engine C6-7 Status Failed to Launch Other Bad Engine Photo None Notes My Sister and her family were here for these launches. This was the first time that I have launched at GH Park. It is great for flying; there is a lot of open space. There were some RC air planes flying at the park too. Of course, my nephews wanted to try and shoot down the planes with a rocket.
This was the third flight of the Ionizer Rocket. This is a ready to fly rocket that is quite large in diameter and is mostly made of molded plastic. It belongs to my sister's family.
After the countdown, the engine sort of fumed, sputtered, and smoked. I've read that this can happen when the engine gets damaged. We waited and let it quit smoking so we could pack up and head for home.
Not a great day for the Ionizer Rocket.
