Notes

My Sister and her family were here for these launches. This was the first time that I have launched at GH Park. It is great for flying; there is a lot of open space. There were some RC air planes flying at the park too. Of course, my nephews wanted to try and shoot down the planes with a rocket.

This was the third flight of the Navy Missile.

It shot up, pencil straight, for about 500', arched over gracefully at the apogee, then proceeded down in a path just as pencil straight right into the ground. It was ruined! I had taped the nose cone to the rocket for transport to the launch site and forgotten to remove the tape during the preflight setup. Oops. The charge that is supposed to force the nose cone out and deploy the parachute burned through the fuselage and melted the chute. The nose cone remained firmly in place.

This was a learning experience and my coolest looking rocket was ruined.
