Rocket Launch Notes
What Snitch Flying Saucer When June 23, 2001 10:07 AM Where GH Park Weather Mostly sunny skies, Breeze N-NW wind, temp 74 Engine C6-0 Status Perfect Flight Other None Photo None Notes We flew these rockets with my sister, Suzanne, and her two sons, Lee and Paul. The boys seemed restless and bored.
My friend from work, Jimbo, and his son were flying kites nearby and got to enjoy the show.
This was the second flight of the Snitch Flying Saucer. This is a flying saucer that flies straight up, then turns over and glides back down. The large frontal area creates a lot of drag. It has neither streamer nor parachute. This was the first flight of the day.
Suzanne pressed the launch button after the all clear signal and countdown. It launched with a great deal of smoke and motor noise and it flew slowly due to the drag. It turned over at the top and drifted back to Earth. It had a safe landing in the grass.
Great flight.
