Rocket Launch Notes
What Ionizer Rocket When August 13, 2000 Where GH Park Weather Clear, sunny skies, Light NW wind, temp 80, 2:00 PM Engine C6-7 Status Great Flight and Recovery Other Homemade Parachute Photo None Notes We flew these rockets with my sister's family. A good time was had by all. There were two other families flying rockets there that afternoon.
This was the fourth launch of the Ionizer Rocket. This is a preassembled, ready to fly rocket. This third flight of the afternoon. This rocket was fitted with a homemade parachute to replace the original one which was ruined during its earlier flights. We constructed it out of the the skin of a mylar "Happy Birthday" balloon.
Dennis pressed the launch button after the all clear signal and countdown. The rocket took off and went straight up. We all watched with great anticipation awaiting the parachute deployment. The parachute deployed perfectly. To be honest, it actually filled out better and had a slower descent than the original.
We were all excited to have this rocket rejoin our fleet.
