Window Motor Rebuild
I was told by the previous owner that occasionally the passenger side window would roll down and get stuck down. Well, at the rate I use the car, it got stuck once, I got it to move and all was fine, except the fact it was moving sssslllllooooooooowww. So, one day I went to roll the window down and it didn't move. I figured, good, at least it's stuck up. Well, I was going to rebuild the window motor when I put the "new" door I got, on. But none-the-less, I do need the window to roll up and down, so I set out rebuilding it.
First I toook off the door panel, cutout the bold access holes, and went to take the motor out. Well, you are supposed to roll the window down and wedge it against a 2x4. But it wouldn't move, so I put a 2x4 in the door and held the galss, as the motor moved away from the lift gear the window jerked, sliped out of my hand, and fell off the wood, falling to it's death at the bottom of the door. Lucky me the new door came with glass, so I put everything back together first, and then put in the new glass.
Here's what it looked like: (in order)

Then, I unbolted it, removed it, disconected it and took it to a workbench. I unbent the tabs holding the brushplate on and removed it. I then cleaned everything with naptha (solvent) and wirewheeld the commutator and brushes. I relubed eveything and put it back together. I bench tested it and put it in the car. Now my window functions properly.
