After attending Marc's concert in DC, I thought, well why wasn't there a page deadicated to him from DC. That would just be the neatest idea. So I did it, a few days, well here we go. There is not much, but w/ all the support and help of you all, we can make it the prime center for Marc in our area.
I love Marc. I am not one of those fans who will do anything to try to talk to someone that knows him or has the destiny one day of living with him. I am in love w/ him for what he stands for, his music. I heard about him last year when Ricky was getting popular. I already had Ricky's music earlier that year, when no one even knew he existed (in the Anglo-world). So, I said this Marc has to be really good, and all. Without ever hearing him, I bought Contra La Corriente. I loved it of course. I didn't even know what salsa music was. Well, I did have some salsa cds already, but I really didn't know what it was. (I had already been thru Merengue w/ Elvis Crespo, who I learned about that winter (98).) So, I loved it, it was so beautiful, artistic and all. Then later on, towards the end of the spring of 99 I got A Todo... I didn't know anything about it, but assumed it had to be good like the other one. So I got it. At first, I didn't really like it, well it wasn't the same feeling as Contra La Corriente. After listening to it for a long time, I grew to LOVE it. MOre than the other one. So I went off to Spanish Governor's School, bringing all of my music in Spainsh. I learned to love A Todo.. even more than before. I had decided then that Marc was my favorite. I still loved Contra La Corriente a lot too! Then I got home, it was about August 1st.
Ok, so I needed more cds, I thought well, I may as well get his first cd in Spanish. By that time I knew just about everything about Marc. I got it and I loved it too! Although some songs were in English, I loved all of them!! So that is most of my story. Now last November i started a club that has just grown immensely over the time. It was started in November of 99, Cantantes Latinos We now have over 80 members. We startd out w/ 1 member, than , and now look over 80. We talk about Marc, and everyone. Drop by!! So I have most of Marc's cds by now, the list you will see at the end. So... I heard about his concert. I went to Hechts w/ my mom and it was even the first day of tickets sales, there were not any good seats left. it was like a dream come true, we got seats, a little high up and well.. you can read about it here k???
