Windows 95 & 98 Not for Laptops.

1. Right Click My Computer. |
| 2. Down to Properties and click |
| 3. Click on the Performance tab |
| 4. Click on the File system button |
| 5. Change Typical role of this computer to Network server in the drop down list |
| 6. Look at the Read ahead optimization, Make sure the slider is all the way to the right next to Full |
| 7. (For Windows 98 only) Now click on the floppy disk tab |
| 8. (For Windows 98 only) Un-check the box Search for new floppy disk drives each time your computer starts. |
9. Click OK, and click OK again |
This makes your computer boot a little bit faster and makes it so it won't search to see if you installed
a new type of floppy disk Drive to your system each time it boots up.
Changing the typical role of this computer from desktop to network
will give you a small boost in horsepower so to speak.
