Research Experience

Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso

·         Developed and conducted study on the correlation of polymorphic traits of Lithrea caustica to the regeneration of native plants in the Laguna Verde micro-watershed of the V Region of Chile, under the direction of Dr. Luisa Ruz, Department of Biology, spring 2004.

-          Used G.P.S. instrument and ArcSoft software.

-          Presented poster to children of the Laguna Verde elementary school.

-          Included in compilation of studies leading to publication.

The University of Iowa

·         Measured and recorded seeds of native Iowa species, Geum canadense and G. laciniatum, for statistical analysis under the direction of Dr. Diana Horton, Department of Biology, spring and summer 2003.

            The University of Wisconsin

·         Conducted research on the sensitivity of Sphaeropsis sapinea to Benomyl fungicide under the direction of Dr. Glen Stanosz, Department of Plant Pathology, 2000 – 2001.

-          Included use of aseptic and fungal research techniques.

-          Presented findings at the Undergraduate Research Scholars Program Symposium.

-          Received greenhouse safety certification.
