Dear Human Resources Manager:

For the last eight years I have built and supported PCs and networks, both on my own and as a systems engineer on various contracts with some of Rochester’s most prominent companies, filling network administration and desktop support positions. Currently my responsibilities also include designing and implementing end-user solutions involving PC and server hardware and software. I’m certified both for Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0 and Novell IntranetWare 4.1. My written and verbal communication skills are excellent. My PC hardware and troubleshooting experience is extensive, as I’ve been building clones and maintaining name-brand systems since 1992. Highlights of my experience include:

    · Administering NT and NetWare servers at Citicorp, and performing troubleshooting and problem resolution for corporate end users.

    · Administering NT and NetWare servers at Frontier while deploying their Year 2000 solutions at multiple upstate New York locations.

    · Creating and maintaining LAN and email accounts for about 300 users at Bausch & Lomb world headquarters, while responding to help desk calls, and performing hardware and software troubleshooting and repairs.

    · Providing second-level technical support to about 250 users at Lightnin Mixers, while migrating the entire factory from Windows 3.1 to Windows 95, personally configuring and deploying about 200 new PCs.

    · Building, configuring, deploying, and repairing hundreds of PCs for multiple clients; including notebooks, name-brand desktops (Compaq, Dell, HP, IBM), and clones.

    · Creating, testing, and deploying mandatory NT user profiles for all upstate NY CellularONE locations, while helping them migrate from a NetWare to an NT environment.

As my résumé demonstrates, my experience and skills make me a good fit for a position in system administration or upper-level technical support. Please call me at (585) 328-3134,or email me at [email protected], to discuss further the contributions I can make to your company or IT clients. Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

Peter A. Moore
