Levelling Up System. When you level up, you will get the following lovely choices: 1. Primary stats. Your choice of -A hitpoint added to your max -A point of strength or speed burst. -Three points of strength or speed store. -Two points of magic burst -Seven points of magic store. Note: the exact numbers may be modified for in-game reasons. The wookie will get more physical stats. Dark Jedi will tend to get offered more magic burst than normal. Etcetera, at GM's description. But this is the basics. 2. Specialty Gets Stronger. This just happens. I'll let you know if it matters. 3. Skills You will be offered your choice of one of two new skills at a level of 1, or if you take neither you get 3 CP usable only for skills. More on CP shortly. 4. Force Powers Same deal. 5. Flex CP You get your new level in flex CP. 6. Next Level: The progression is exponential. The first ten levels are: 0 1000 1 1200 2 1440 3 1728 4 2074 5 2500 6 2986 7 3583 8 4300 9 5160 10 6190 11 7428 12 8914 13 10696 14 12835 15 15402 16 18483 17 22179 18 26615 19 31939 20 38327 For the math majors out there, that's the function XP = 1.2 ^ level * 1000, with some rounding. You get XP for completing goals, learning information, fighting, and small amounts for out-of-game contributions such as session summaries. To calibrate, defeating a random low-power soldier in combat is worth about 60 xp. 7. Spending CP This is where the big stuff happens. To improve a skill or power, spend the skill or power's new level in CP. So for example if you have TK 3, spend 4 points to get it to level 4, 9 (= 4+5) points to get it to level 5, and so on. The first point is free. Diversified skills are cheaper, but specialized skills are more effective. Skills that stack are great. |
