This has a slight lemony flavor. I will add more lemon in the next
chapter and sugar to taste. So if you are underage please do not read.







The Plan







The day was almost over and Kaoru was happy with the progress she was
making. Kenshin had prepared her bath and then went to get the tofu for
dinner.



The next phase of her plan was to be the hardest part. She hated mice
but for this phase to work she needed one. She had managed to procure a
mouse in a cage. After Kenshin left, she took a quick bath and then
waited until she heard the gate squeak open. With a towel wrapped around
her, she climbed onto the tallest thing she could find, a small table in
the far corner. "Don't worry little mouse I won't hurt you" she said as
she opened the cage and let the mouse onto the floor. The mouse just sat
there staring at her. " Just a few more minutes little one" she said
"ok, here goes". She screamed loud enough to wake the dead.. Then the
mouse decided that it was time for his performance. He started jumping
and running around the room like it was a race track. Then the hysterics
began.



Right on cue, here comes Kenshin.



"Kaoru-dono, what's wrong?" said Kenshin thru the door. He remembered
another time when he had rushed into the bath house and didn't care to
repeat that mistake. A little bit of caution was a wise choice.



"Kenshin, there is a mouse in here" she screamed "come get it out,
ONEGAI." "Hurry Kenshin" she tried to calm her voice "AAAGGGHHHHHHH"



Kenshin rushed into the bath house looking for a mouse. Seeing Kaoru
perched up on top of a small table, wearing nothing but a towel, was to
much for him. He quickly looked around the room so he could hid his
grinning face from her. She was known to have a temper. He saw the mouse
still racing around the room.





Somehow she managed to scream louder while doing a small dance on the
table. It was all Kenshin could do to keep from laughing at the way she
was dancing. But as luck was running out, the table started to sway and
then tipped completely over. Kenshin rushed over and caught her in his
arms. Right where she wanted to be. '/Thank all the Gods that be/' she
thought as she snuggled into his chest. "Please don't put me down in
here" she said thru the tears that were forming in her eyes. This phase
of her plan didn't work out quite like she had planned but she still
landed in his arms. She was still struggling as now she was really
frightened, not just an act.



Kenshin was trying his best to calm her down. She was struggling to keep
off the floor pressing her chest to his when the towel slipped down just
enough and they had bare skin against bare skin.



For one complete minute there was no sound in the bath house. Then both
parties looked at each other and turned the prettiest shade of pink.



Slowly Kaoru loosened her grip on Kenshin. "Don't you dare put me down
in here" she growled, pulling the towel back up where it belonged.



Kenshin's mind and body were trying to decide who would take control.
His mind won when he whisper "What would you like me to do with you,
Kaoru-dono?". His fear was turning into the deepest desire to hold her
forever.



She wanted to tell him exactly what she wanted but was afraid he would
reject her. The time wasn't right yet, but soon. "Take me to my room,
onegai." she meekly said. She was amazed that the anger she would
normally experience was not there. The sensation from their skin
touching was something she had to have more of and soon. '/Yes tonight
will be the night/' was running through her mind.



Kenshin was puzzled but happy that he wasn't plastered against the far
wall. As he carried her back to her room he reflected on her sudden
change. She still looked the same as she did yesterday. But there was
something different today.



When they were outside her bedroom, he gently stood her on the floor not
wanting to let go just yet. She bowed her head and said "Arigato, for
saving me". Then she quickly slipped into her bedroom, leaving Kenshin
standing there very confused muttering "I would give my life for you,
Kaoru-dono".

Kenshin stood there for a few seconds trying to clear his head. When he
could think again, he realized that Kaoru's clothes were still in the
bath house. He went to retrieve her clothes.



When he stepped inside the bath house, the mouse was still racing around
its imaginary track. That is when he completely lost it. He fell on the
floor laughing so hard that Kaoru heard him in her bedroom. His laughter
sounded so sweet and pure. As he continued to laugh, she started to
laugh too. She felt sorry for the little mouse but she had needed his
help for this part of her plan. Hearing Kenshin laugh was a bonus.



The mouse must have noticed the open door on one of its trips around the
room. With a zip and a zing it was out the door and heading for the
north country. Leaving all the laughter behind.



Once Kenshin was able to pull himself off the floor, he picked up Kaoru'
s clothes and retraced his steps back to her room. "Kaoru-dono" he
softly said "I have your clothes" She stuck her arm out the door to
claim her clothes. "Arigato, Kenshin" came her soft voice.



"I am going to make dinner, I will call you when its ready" said Kenshin.



Kaoru waited until she could no longer hear his footsteps before she
collapsed onto her futon. '/I almost messed up my plan.' /she thought'/
But it was sure nice to hear Kenshin laugh. That alone was worth being
scared.' /



She suddenly felt tired. Knowing that it would be awhile before dinner
was ready, she decided to take a small nap. She didn't trust herself to
go into the kitchen any earlier that was necessary.



Kenshin started preparing dinner. '/When was the last time I laughed
that hard/' he thought '/I can't remember. But it sure felt good./'
Thinking of the poor mouse made him chuckle again.



Soon dinner was ready. As he went to tell Kaoru, his mind started
thinking about the events of the day. The one thought that kept pulling
at his mind was "Kaoru-dono is up to something" But what? I am sure she
will tell me when she is ready.



As he approached her room, he could hear no sound. "Kaoru-dono" he
softly inquired. When there was no answer he slowly slid her door open
just enough to see her sleeping, then quietly closed it. "Kaoru-dono,
dinner is ready." he said in a louder voice so that she would hear him.



" I will be right there, arigato Kenshin" she said sleepily.



He walked back to the kitchen to wait for her.



She hurried to the kitchen. '/Hopefully dinner will not take that
long/'she thought. The fire that was started earlier was now burning
through her inner core. She tried to act sleepy but everytime she looked
at Kenshin she could feel the heat rising inside her body. She was
begining to think that her plan had only worked on her. When Kenshin
asked her " Do you think it is hot in here tonight?" She sighed politely
and said "Hai, it is a bit warm tonight."



Kenshin was trying not to laugh. Everytime he looked at Kaoru, he saw
her dancing on the table with that silly little mouse racing around the
bath house.



"Kenshin I am really tired tonight. So I think that I will turn in
early. Oyasumi, " she said as she hurried out of the kitchen after only
picking at her food.



"Oyasumi, Kaoru-dono" he just barely said before she was gone. " I hope
she tells me what is bothering her and I hope she tells me soon" he said
to no one.



She hears Kenshin's footsteps coming to check on her like he does every
night. She lays down waiting for his gentle knock. When there is no
response, she hears the door slowly slide open just enough so that he
can see her. She pretends to be asleep.

'/Now for the most important part of my plan/' she thought. '/ I can do
this, I can make this happen/' she quietly chants adding '/ I want this
to happen, I need this to happen/'.

It may take awhile to finish the next chapter as I am not sure how many
lemons I will be adding to the pot. I may have to purchase some more
before I am finished. I can say there will be enough to taste good. But
it will be finished, I don't like it when stories are unfinished. I will
try to finish it as soon as I can.
